Update 1/22: My friend comes over last night with his 'new', 'never fired' Gaucho and it was a piece of work. That's not much. Many gunsmiths grind original Colt mainsprings thinner in order to make them lighter, or replace them with slimmer after market ones. Previously there were four finishes in three barrel lengths, 12 models in each caliber, now not all finishes in all barrel lengths are shown. Floor space and plant size where they are now does not allow for large expansion at this time or they would have done it by now. . BTW, I looked on the Taurus site and they seem to be discontinued. They could not give me a reason why Taurus did so. The Gaucho’s leaf mainspring is slotted right down the middle so as to make it less sturdy.
